Independent Component 1

Write: “I, Salvador Vargas, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents >30 hours of work.”

Cite your source regarding who or what article or book helped you complete the independent component.
  • Angel Rienteria, Works at Ameca Auto Electric, my mentor.
 Explain what you have completed?
  • I have fixed my moms car which has had problems up until this project.

Defend your work and explain its significance to your project and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.   Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc) of the 30 hours of work.
Here me and Angel were checking a rear brake light that didn't illuminate.

We checked the lights with this tester. If the tester would tell us if the problem was a blown light or a short somewhere in the way.

Some codes the car was giving off.

This is dirt and leaves that I talked about in my 2nd lesson plan. The problem with the dirt it that it can interfere with any sensor. In this case it would mark that the trunk lid was open when it was shut tight.

This picture still has dirt, but thats as much as I was able to get out It fixed the problem we were having . Also I didn't want to use a wet towel because I could have shorted a circuit.
  • My moms car had a a lot of problems. Through out this project I have not only learned how to work on this E53 but also some tricks and tricks I could use later in life. Since my essential question is about maintaining cars I have brought this car back to normal with the help of resources. Some of the resources I used were the internet and my mentor Angel Rienteria. With a combination of these I have brought this car to 100% running condition, and is a safe car that my mom will be able to rely on for a couple of years without touching it majorly.
How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better?  Please include specific examples to illustrate this.
  • Working on cars isn't easy and its a skill that comes over time. When I started this presentation I had a belief in which working on a car was simple and easy. However the detail about not being able to find the foundation of the problem was driving me crazy

  1. Salvador- Please make a total hours column so that I can assess this at a higher grade. Send me the link when you've done it.
