Last Presentation Reflection

What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
  • I am most proud of the fact that I was able to entertain the class throughout my whole presentation. This is mainly because talking about cars can be boring for some people.

What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation?  Use the component contract to defend that assessment.
  • I believe I deserve an AE because I hit all the requirements in the throughout the presentation. I was also able to keep the audience engaged by saying appropriate jokes and giving out treats to students that were actually participating throughout the presentation.

What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project? Use the component contract to defend that assessment.
  • I feel that I rightfully deserve a AE because I learned a lot through the various components that I completed over the course of my senior year. My first independent component not only affected me but also my immediate family because,  I fixed my moms cars which was something she desperately needed.

(3) What worked for you in your senior project?

  • My mentor ship was one thing that really worked out for me because i got a lot of hands on experience with car maintenance . After I got my second mentor Mr. Rienteria I learned something new every time I went in.

If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project?
  • Sounds like an Ortega question but, I would go back and change the first two interviews I had. I would have asked questions that corresponded with my EQ better.
How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.
  • It has been an experience that I am really proud of because I was able find out that being a mechanic isn't for me. Being a mechanic isn't for me because its daily struggle because there are always new models coming out so the mechanic has to constantly be adapting.

Blog 23 - Exit Interview

What is your essential question, and what are your answers?  What is your best answer and why?

  • EQ : HOw can a first time owner maintain a car
    • Ans1- Due some maintenance yourself acquiring tools and some basic knowledge.
    • Ans2- Have a mechanic or the dealership work on the car when it encounters problems.
    • Ans3- Make the driver aware of bad driving habits to the driver could avoid premature wear in the car.
      • My best answer is Ans2 because it ensures that the job that is getting done is going to be a good one.
What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
  • It took a while of working in the field because it was then when I realized that maintenance isn't for everybody. More specifically, it is very frustrating a times. Since Ans2 involves getting professional help it is the most stress free that the others.
What problems did you face?  How did you resolve them?
  • One problem I faced was finding my Ans3. It was an issue because the third answer I was thinking about at the time was very similar to one I already had. What I did was come up with a third answer that really isn't similar to any other.
What are the two most significant sources you used to answer your essential question and why?
  • Chapman, Alan. "Body Language." Body Language. Businessballs, 2015. Web. 08 Oct. 2015.
    • This one helped me out with Ans2 because I then have an idea how malicious mechanics are going to act like.
  • Klosowski, Thorin. "The Car Repairs You Can (Seriously) Do Yourself, Despite Your Abilities." Lifehacker. N.p., 15 Dec. 2011. Web. 03 Dec. 2015.
    • This one helped me out on doing the IC2 and also helped me pick topics for my Ans1.

 Explain what you completed.
  • What I completed is a small booklet that any owner can use if they are looking to do some maintenance to their car. This book talks about experience and what I know in theory.  It covers the very basic of car maintenance. For example, tune ups to replacing windshield wipers.
Defend your work and explain the component's significance and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.
here I am working on the cover page for my book

How did the component help you answer your EQ? Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped.
  • It helped enforce one of my answers to my essential question because I know have something I ca offer to people in my presentation. Since my essential question is how can a first time owner maintain a car, this book serves as the first step in doing so because they hopefully learn something and get the interest of learning more. This book gives the reader the basic idea and it encourages the reader to find out specifically what step to take in order to do the maintenance on their cars.
